Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice for May 10th. Starring Al Pacino in a tour de force performance, he's supported by Jeremy Irons and Joseph Fiennes. Expect a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Supplements are expected to include commentaries and featurettes. The SRP is $26.96

Also from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment comes Crimson Rivers: Angels of the Apocalypse Special Edition on March 29th. Jean Reno and Christopher Lee star in a tale about the search for the force behind a series of grisly killings. Spiced with a touch of the mystical and paranormal, the fate of life as we know it hangs in the balance. The anamorphic video DVD will include extras like previews, making-of featurette, five behind the scenes featurettes, and one deleted scene. The SRP $24.96 package sounds intriguing.

On June 14th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release a Tenth Anniversary Edition of Casino. Starring Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci, expect this SRP $22.98 DVD to include an anamorphic widescreen presentation and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Universal has not yet issued the supplement list on its official website yet, but I suspect that they will not disappoint fans of the film.
