Into the Woods - 12:08pm
The latest from Robert Redford, the dramatic thriller The
Clearing, didn't make much of a dent at the box office
this past summer (in fact, few knew it even came out), but you
can get a second chance to discover the film on November 9th,
when Fox Home Entertainment gives the flick the special edition
treatment. Co-starring Willem Dafoe and directed by Peter Jan
Brugge, the pic will come with a 1.85 anamorphic widescreen transfer,
Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, audio commentary with Brugge,
writer Justin Haythe and editor Kevin Tent, the "Inside Look"
featurette, six deleted scenes with optional commentary, the complete
screenplay (as a series of text screens) and theatrical trailers.
Retail will list for $27.95.
After
Sunrise - 12:08pm
Another small film largely overlooked in limited release this
summer was Richard Linklater's romantic sequel Before
Sunrise, which saw young lovers Ethan Hawke and Julie
Delpy reunite ten years after a vacation fling. Warner Home Video
will release the DVD on November 9th, featuring a 1.85:1 anamorphic
widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, audio commentary
(participants TBA), a featurette and the theatrical trailer. Retail
will be $27.95.
More art house fun making its DVD debut on November 2nd is the
Colin Farrell starrer A Home at the End of the World.
This one will also get the 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby
Digital 5.1 surround treatment, but there are no announced extras.
Expect a list price of $27.95.
Webslinger - 12:09pm
And just in case you missed the late Friday announcement, that's
right, Spidey's back! It only just dropped out of the box office
top ten this past weekend, but Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment
has wasted no time in announcing a November 30th release for the
blockbuster sequel Spider-Man 2. Loaded with
over 10 hours of bonus features (too many to list here!), just
check out the full press
release (www.dvdfile.com/news/web_wire/press_release/index.html)
for all the details.
