'Saved!'; 'Super Size Me'; Paramount documentaries

Fries with That? - 12:35pm

So, what happens when you eat nothing but McDonalds - three meals a day, everyday - for a month? You get fat, of course. As Morgan Spurlock learned in his hit documentary Super Size Me, which will be released on September 28th via Hart Sharp Video and Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (who will distribute the DVD only to mass market merchants such as Target and Wal-Mart, with Hart handling remaining retailers). Presented in 4:3 full screen and Dolby Digital 2.0 surround, extras include an audio commentary with Spurlock, additional footage and trailers. Retail will be $26.95.

High School Confessional - 12:35pm

The film that Premiere called "Nothing short of brilliant!", MGM Home Entertainment will release the "anti-Passion of the Christ," Saved!, on October 5th. This wicked satire will get the anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround treatment, although disappointingly, there are no extras aside from the theatrical trailer. Retail will list for $26.95.

MGM Home Entertainment has also announced a new street date for the recent remake of Walking Tall, starring The Rock. The disc will now street on September 28th, with retail price and specs remaining the same.

Reality TV - 12:35pm

Just in time to capitalize on the documentary boon led by Michael Moore, Paramount Home Entertainment will release a sizable slate of documentary programming on September 28th.

Led by reissues of many Ken Burns classics - all previously released by Warner Home Video - the studio will unleash the following multi-disc sets: The West, The Civil War, Jazz and Baseball. All features are the same specs as the previous Warner versions, and retail will list for $129.95 for the first two, and $179.95 for the latter two.

Also on tap for the 28th are nearly a dozen single-disc docs: Thomas Jefferson, Not For Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady & Susan B. Anthony, Frank Lloyd Wright, Ken Burns America Collection: The Statue Of Liberty, Lewis & Clark: The Journey of the Corps of Discovery, Mark Twain, Horatio's Drive and The American Experience: New York - The Center Of the World. List price? $19.95 a pop.

last but not least, Paramount will also release the box set The American Experience: Chicago - City of the Century, which will list for $79.95.
