Electric Dreams - 3:45pm
Just can't get enough TV on DVD? Then add three more favorites
to your shopping cart courtesy of Universal Studios Home Video,
who will debut a trio of favorites on September 7th: American
Dreams: Season One, Columbo: The Complete First
Season and Magnum P.I.: The Complete First Season.
The two TV classics get the 4:3 full screen and Dolby 2.0 stereo
treatment, while American Dreams comes in glorious 1.78:1 anamorphic
widescreen and Dolby 5.1 surround. This "Extended Music Edition"
also boasts extended performances not seen on TV during each episode,
featuring such musical guest stars as Usher, Kelly Rowland, LeAnn
Rimes and Jennifer Love Hewitt, plus audio commentary by producer
Dick Clark and cast, the "Dick Clark Remembers" featurette
looking back at the history of American Bandstand, additional
making-of footage, a blooper reel and a music video. Retail will
list for $89.95.
Universal has also announced two street date postponements for
the new Dazed & Confused Flashback Edition
and a reissue of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Both will now debut on November 2nd. Specs and retail price remain
the same.
Iron
Fist - 3:45pm
Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has just announced their August
31st lineup of new and catalog releases, and leading the charge
is Tom Selleck in Ike: Countdown to D-Day. This
acclaimed telefilm will be presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen
and Dolby 5.1 surround, but includes no extras aside from bonus
trailers. List price will cost $24.95.
Also hitting DVD for the first time on the 31st are three thrillers
from the Columbia vaults: Theresa Russell and Burt Reynolds in
Physical Evidence, and the cult faves Relentless
and Relentless 2: Dead On. The first two get
anamorphic widescreen transfers, while Relentless 2 is full screen
only. All include Dolby 2.0 surround tracks plus trailers, and
will retail for $19.95 a pop.
And last but not least is the direct-to-DVD sequel Annie:
A Royal Adventure. Presented in 4:3 full screen and Dolby
2.0 surround, again there are no extras aside from bonus trailers.
Retail will be $19.95.

Coming on September 7th from Lion's Gate Home Entertainment, it's
Will & Grace: The Complete Third Season.
Once again featuring 4:3 full screen transfers and Dolby Digital
2.0 surround tracks, extras include three featurettes and episode
info. List price will be $49.95.
