'Human Stain,' 'Freaky Friday'; Universal summer catalog; 'Boy Meets Boy'
Out! Out! Damn Spot! - 3:45pm

Kicking off today's news is the latest from Buena Vista Home Entertainment. While it failed to snag any Oscar nominations or drum up much box office, the dark drama The Human Stain will get another chance on DVD come July 20th. Starring Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman, this sorta-special edition includes an anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, "Behind the Scenes" and "A Tribute to Director of Photography Jean Yves Escoffer" featurettes, a deleted scene and the theatrical trailer. Retail will be $29.95.

Buena Vista will also release the little-seen thriller People I Know on the 20th, starring Al Pacino. Presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby 5.1, extras include an audio commentary with director Dan Algrant and writer and producer Gregory Mosher, deleted scenes with optional commentary and trailers. Retail will also run you $29.95.

Also just announced are the full specs for two upcoming catalog releases. Due on June 1st, the original 1976 Freaky Friday will feature a remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, plus "A Look Back with Jodie Foster" all-new interview, the "Memory" interactive game and a theatrical trailer. List price will be $24.95, or $39.95 for a Freaky Friday 2-Pack featuring both the original and 2003 remakes.
