Leading off the week's news is the arrival of the Cuba Gooding
Jr. sports drama Radio, which will hit DVD on
January 27th courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.
This special edition will include the "Football" It
Ain't All Fun and Games" and "Tuning In: The Making
of Radio" featurettes, deleted scenes, a blooper and trailers.
Retail will be $28.95.
Evil Has Many Faces - 2:42pm
Just in from Fox Home Entertainment is their February lineup
of new catalog releases, which includes a number of long-awaited
DVD debuts and price reductions. Hitting DVD for the first time
on February 3rd are the dramas Nell, Crimes
of the Heart, Vanishing Point and the
Julia Roberts weepie Dying Young, the comedy
misfire Down Periscope, and the thrillers Black
Widow, The Good Son with Macauley Culkin
and Raw Deal, starring Governor Schwarzenegger.
Each is remastered in anamorphic widescreen and feature only trailers.
Retail will be $14.95 a pop.
Its premiere episode may only be days away, but Fox has already
announced a January 27th release date for the reality series The
Simple Life, starring famous video star Paris Hilton.
This seven-episode mini-epic will include 4:3 full screen transfers
and Dolby 2.0 stereo tracks plus five extended outtakes - "Paris
and Nicole Pack For The Trip," "The Taxidermist Job,"
"Shopping At Buffalo Bill's Store," "Can Opener"
and "The Vet." Retail is $19.95.

Rounding out today's news is the latest from Anchor Bay Entertainment,
a new special edition reissue of the Terry Gilliam cult classic
Time Bandits. Anchor Bay will release this two-disc
set on January 27th, complete with a new DiviMax" anamorphic
widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital and DTS surround tracks, a
new interview with Gilliam and Michael Palin, the complete "The
Directors: The Films of Terry Gilliam" documentary, a Gilliam
bio, theatrical trailers and the complete screenplay as a ROM
downloadable. Retail is $24.95.
