'Spy Kids 3'; 'Gilligan's Island' first season; more on 'ALIEN'

The third and final chapter in the Spy Kids saga, the 3-D enhanced Spy Kids 3, will hit DVD on February 24th from Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Presented in 1.85:1 complete with both "2-D" and 3-D version (the set will include four pairs of 3-D glasses), audio options include a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround and English, French and Spanish subtitle tracks. Extras include an audio commentary with director Robert Rodriguez, the "Director's Film School," "Making of Spy Kids 3D," "The Effects of Spy Kids 3D," "Making ‘Traks’ with Alexa Vega," and "Alexa Vega In Concert" featurettes, a "Surfing And Stunts" multi-angle demonstration, additional behind the scenes footage, the "Mega Race" interactive game, and trailers. Retail $29.95.

It was the voyage that was only supposed to last a weekend...and ended up running for five years. On February 3rd, Warner Home video will unleash Gilligan's Island: The Complete First Season. This three-disc set all of the first season episodes including the rarely-seen pilot, each presented in 4:3 full screen and Dolby Digital mono, plus extras: an audio commentary by creator Sherwood Schwartz, the "Before The Three-Hour Tour" featurette, "Tropical Tidbits" trivia challenge, and the "Gilligan's Island Survival Guide." Retail will set you back $39.95.

More 'ALIEN' - 11:09am

Just can't get enough of that ALIEN Quadrilogy announcement yesterday? And what if you hate ALIEN 3 and ALIEN Resurrection? Fox Home Entertainment has also announced that on January 3rd, they will release each of the four films in the box set separately as two-disc special editions, each with the same extras, with a retail price of $26.96 a pop. The bonus 9th Quadrilogy disc, however, will only be available in box set. Also, we've received our review copy of the Quadrilogy, so watch for a full review of this mammoth set in the days ahead...
