Just in from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment is a batch
of new and catalog releases arriving on March 11th. Leading the
pack is perhaps the fall's biggest box office disappointment,
the Eddie Murphy remake of I Spy. Also due on March 11th
is the sequel Sniper 2 and Sasquatch, plus the catalog
favorites Desert Bloom, The Awful Truth, and Carroll
Ballard's Wind. Watch this space for further details...

Once again rescuing lost films from obscurity, Anchor Bay Entertainment
has just announced a new spate of winter titles, all little-seen
cult favorites finally getting the DVD treatment. Due on March
18th is the star-studded stop-motion animated anthology of fairy
tales The Daydreamer, the blaxploitation classic One
Down, Two to Go (with audio commentary by star Fred Williamson),
and the rock classic Michael Nesmith's Elephant Parts (also
with commentary by Nesmith). All are presented in full frame (except
One Down, Two to Go, which is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen),
and retail is $19.95 each.
Due a week later on March 25th is a feature-loaded special edition
of Winter Kills, starring Jeff Bridges and Anthony Perkins.
Presented in anamorphic widescreen, extras include audio commentary
by director William Richert, two featurettes, a still gallery,
the complete original screenplay, and the trailer. Retail is $24.95.
Next up on April 8th are a number of little-seen cult favorites,
including Jane Alexander and a pre-busted Winona Ryder in Square
Dance, the thriller The Black Marble, and A Man,
A Woman, and a Bank. Each is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic
widescreen and mono, with trailers and a poster reproduction the
only extras. Retail is $19.95 each.
Last but not least, on April 29th comes special editions of A
Girl Called Rosamarie and Five Wives, Three Secretaries
& Me. Each is presented in anamorphic widescreen and mono,
with audio commentaries and trailers, plus a featurette on Five
Wives, Three Secretaries & Me. Retail is $19.95 a pop.
