After eons of anticipation for Trekkers, Paramount Home Entertainment
has finally announced the full specs for Star Trek: Deep Space
Nine. The entire seven season run of the show is due to be
released in 2003, with The Complete First Season docking
on February 25th.
Season One will come in a six-disc box set containing all first
season episode presented in their original 4:3 full screen aspect
ratios and 5.1 Dolby surround. Extras include the new featurettes
"Deep Space Nine: A Bold Beginning," "Crew Dossier:
Kira Nerys," "Michael Westmore's Aliens: Season One,"
"Secrets of Quark's Bar," "Alien Artifacts: Season
One," plus four still galleries: "Deep Space Nine Sketchbook,"
"Deep Space Nine Chronicles," "Section 31 Hidden
Files" and a photo collection. No list price has yet been
set, but stay tuned.
Attack of the Culkins - 12:00am
Just announced from MGM Home Entertainment is a February 4th
release for the Oscar hopeful Igby Goes Down, still playing
in limited release in theaters across the country and racking
up impressive critical notices. Kieran Culkin as the disaffected
title character, and the DVD comes feature-loaded with plenty
of extras. Presented in anamorphic widescreen with English and
French 5.1 surround tracks, goodies include audio commentary with
director Burr Steers and Culkin, deleted scenes with optional
commentary a making-of featurette, still gallery and the theatrical
trailer. Retail is $26.95.
